Avoid worshipping in excess

 Do not worship in excess

(Al-Kafi, volume 2, page 86)

“Abi Abdilah [al-Sadiq] said: 

‘My father [al-Baqir] passed by me during tawaf when I was a young boy. And at that time, I put excess effort in worship - such that he saw me sweating profusely. 

So he told me: O Jafar, O my son. If Allah loves a slave, he takes allows him to enters heaven and is pleased by even little worship he does’”

4 - عدة من أصحابنا، عن أحمد بن محمد: عن ابن فضال، عن الحسن بن الجهم عن منصور، عن أبي بصير، عن أبي عبد الله (عليهالسلام) قال: مر بي أبي وأنا بالطواف وأنا حدث (4) وقد اجتهدت في العبادة، فرآني وأنا أتصاب عرقا، فقال لي: يا جعفر يا بني إن اللهإذا أحب عبدا أدخله الجنة ورضي عنه باليسير.

“Rasul Allah said: This religion is vast, so get deep in it gently. And do not make the slaves of Allah hate worship of Allah, so you wouod be like the traveler who neither commences his travel nor stays behind.”

باب) * (الاقتصاد في العبادة) * 1 - محمد بن يحيى، عن أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى، عن محمد بن سنان، عن أبي الجارود عن أبي جعفر(عليه السلام) قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): إن هذا الدين متين فأوغلوا فيه برفق (1) ولا تكرهوا عبادة الله إلى عباد الله، فتكونواكالراكب المنبت (2) الذي لا سفرا قطع ولا ظهرا أبقى (3).
